My name is (name withheld) and I replied to a story awhile back. I apologize because it is incoherant and I wasn't in the proper frame of mind at the time. Please remove my comments from your site, please. The stupid comment I wrote is the only thing that comes up when my name is searched on the internet. Please remove immediately. Thank you

I was quite prepared to remove your name from that article, though not the article itself, and I sent you a message to that effect:

Because you did not specify which article you were referring to, I had to google your name to identify it. You are right - it is the only item that comes up in a name search for you.
I don't remove articles from the site. However, I am usually prepared to remove names when they might cause undue embarrassment. I will do this for you in Friday's update.
But...
You should be aware that search engines will not be updated immediately. I don't control how often they spider the site and while the leading search engines will probably reflect the change within a month or so, some might not pick it up for several months.
Further...
There are a number of organizations that make a point of archiving the entire internet (or portions of it) regularly for research purposes. Your name will always be connected to that article in those archives, many of which are publicly searchable. These archives cannot be changed - they are part of history.
I don't think there are many people active on the internet who do not have embarrassing posts in the archives. I certainly have some. We just hope the intelligent ones outweigh those we'd rather forget. It is unfortunate that the only post you have is one that you have cause to regret. It might be in your interest to try to get some thoughtful articles in your name out there.
Best wishes

But (name withheld), the message bounced. You gave me an invalid email address. I have to say that annoys me, particularly as I took the time to provide an informative reply. Why would you provide an incorrect address? Perhaps you are not the person you claim to be; perhaps you lack the courage to provide a valid address; or, perhaps it was a honest error.
If you really want your name removed from the article, I want a request from a valid verifiable email address. I suggest you act quickly before anyone else reads this.
Best wishes
